National Museums (Hansard, 6 February 1991)

§ Mr. Fisher
To ask the Minister for the Arts when he expects the survey by Ove Arup into the future of the national museums to be completed.

§ Mr. Renton
I expect that the current review by Arup Research and Development of the building renovation needs of the national museums and galleries which I sponsor will be completed by summer 1991.

§ Mr. Fisher
To ask the Minister for the Arts what is the estimated cost of the survey by Ove Arup into the future of the national museums.

§ Mr. Renton
The total cost of the review of the renovation needs of the national museums and galleries which I sponsor is estimated at £120,000 including the consultancy fees to be paid to Arup Research and Development.

§ Mr. Fisher
To ask the Minister for the Arts when he intends to publish the survey by Ove Arup into the future of the national museums.

§ Mr. Renton
I shall be considering in due course what would be the most appropriate action to take in respect of the advice offered to me by Arup Research and Development when it reports to me on the building renovation needs of the national museums and galleries which I sponsor.
