HC Deb 06 February 1991 vol 185 c156W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list, by location, his Department's 12 pilot projects aimed at reducing waiting times for hearing aid services; what is the cost of each project; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dorrell

The table lists the projects by location and shows the funding allocated to each project in 1990–91, based on the project manager's estimate of expenditure in each case. We shall shortly be inviting project managers to let us have their estimate of project costs for 1991–92. In addition to funding individual projects, the Department is funding the Hester Adrian research centre at the university of Manchester to carry out an evaluation of all 12 projects. The total estimated cost of the evaluation is £80,000.
