§ Mr. TrippierThe Nature Conservancy Council recommends to the Government sites which meet the criteria for designation as wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar convention and special protection areas under the EEC birds directive. The factors which are taken into account when considering any development proposal affecting a Ramsar site or special protection area, or site identified as being a potential special protection area, are set out in DOE circular 27/87.
