§ Mr. Alan HowarthThe expenditure plans announced on 8 November provided an extra £10 million a year for capital spending by the Universities Funding Council. The increased total allowed for additional equipment for teaching and necessary improvements to animal houses. The distribution of aggregate capital and recurrent funds among universities is a matter for the council, which will announce its allocations for 1991–92 later this month.
