To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is his policy towards the charging by health authorities or national health service trusts of local authority social services departments for the attendance of hospital doctors at case conferences concerning children or young persons at risk.

Such charges in respect of hospital doctors should not be necessary, and the needs of the child should always be paramount.
