§ Mr. ChopeThe latest forecast of expenditure on maintenance of motorways and trunk roads in England in 1990–91 is £543.8 million.
This includes £419.5 million of capital expenditure on the renewal of roads and the renewal and strengthening of bridges (including the Severn bridge) and £124.3 million of current expenditure on roads and bridges.
