HC Deb 19 December 1991 vol 201 c221W
59. Mr. Tom Clarke

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his forecast for the cost to the Exchequer in a full year in(a) 1991–92 and (b) 1992–93 of tax relief for private medical insurance premiums for persons aged over 60 years.

Mr. Maude

The estimated cost of the relief in respect of 1991–92 is expected to be about £60 million. The cost in respect of 1992–93 will depend on the level of premiums paid.
