§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give the closure dates for the veterinary investigation centres at(a) Bangor, (b) Cambridge, (c) Lincoln, (d) Norwich, (e) Reading, (f) Worcester, (g) Wye and (h) Truro; and what is the latest position in plans for the new VICs at Bury St. Edmonds and in Warwickshire; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GummerI refer the hon. Member to my reply on 21 October 1991,Official Report, column 415. As far as the Truro Centre is concerned, I refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for St. Ives (Mr. Harris) on 23 July 1991, Official Report, column 454. The latest position in respect of the two new centres at Bury St. Edmunds and Luddington in Warwickshire is that planning approvals have been obtained for both sites, detailed design work has almost been completed, the tender for enabling works at Bury St. Edmunds has been let and the main contracts for both sites are expected to go out to tender early in the new year. Completion is scheduled for both projects in mid to late-1993.
