HC Deb 13 December 1991 vol 200 cc559-60W
Mr. Straw

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he expects to announce his decision in respect of capital allocation for schools.

Mr. Fallon

We have already announced that £524 million will be allocated for schools buildings for 1992–93, an increase of 11 per cent. over the £472 million allocated in 1991–92. Building grants for voluntary aided schools will also increase to £151 million, a rise of over 15 per cent. on the current year.

My right hon. and learned Friend intends to announce his decisions on the distribution of annual capital guidelines and voluntary aided school capital allocations for 1992–93 to local education authorities before Christmas.
