§ Mr. HanleyDuring the period 1986 to 1990 the amount of money paid in Northern Ireland as a result of fraudulent claims for DHSS benefits, which have since been detected, was:
£ 1986 668,924 1987 640,924 1988 621,109 1989 814,637 1990 894,140 The figure for 1990 represents a period of 15 months from 1 January 1990 to 31 March 1991 as from 1991 it was decided to record these statistics on a financial year basis. Figures in respect of 1991 will not be available until mid-1992.
