HC Deb 11 December 1991 vol 200 c460W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Lord President of the Council if he will increase to 48 the present limit on hon. Members' parties visiting the House of Commons admitted under one permit, while maintaining the limit of 16 on each escorted group shown round the House.

Mr. MacGregor

The present system has evolved over a number of years and allows 50 individual Members' parties in groups of up to 16 to tour the Line of Route in reasonable comfort. The effects on congestion and demand from Members would have to be carefully balanced against the advantages of any change in the present arrangements. However, I will ask the Administration Committee to consider the hon. Member's proposal.
