HC Deb 09 December 1991 vol 200 cc345-6W
Mr. Colvin

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many disabled people are currently employed in his Department; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lang

The Scottish Office and associated departments currently employ 89 registered disabled persons as well as an unrecorded number of disabled persons who have chosen not to register.

The Scottish Office is fully aware of its obligations in this area. In common with other Government Departments it implements the policies set out in the code of practice on the employment of people with disabilities, and participates in the Employment Service's "More Than Just a Symbol" initiative.
