HC Deb 09 December 1991 vol 200 c344W
Sir David Steel

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what response he proposes to make in respect of the Scottish agricultural college's preliminary report on common agricultural policy reform and its impact on the Borders region of Scotland.

Mr. Lang

My Department has received a copy of this report which was commissioned by Borders regional council. Its findings on the initial impact of the reform proposals are broadly in line with the Government's assessment and help to illustrate why the Government have opposed the discriminatory features of those proposals.
