HC Deb 05 December 1991 vol 200 c195W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the target date by which he intends that the proportion of adults with learning difficulties who need a supported home of their own and who actually have such a home shall exceed 50 per cent.

Mr. Nicholas Bennett

Targets are proposed annually by county joint planning teams and agreed annually by the Welsh Office. Provisional targets for 1991–92 indicate that there should be 1,194 places for adults living in ordinary housing outside the family home by 31 March 1992, compared to 166 places in the year before the all-Wales mental handicap strategy was launched.
