§ Mr. MallonTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) on how many occasions members of(a) the police, (b) the Ulster Defence Regiment or (c) other security personnel were (i) questioned and (ii) charged by the Royal Ulster Constabulary in relation to the theft or loss of weapons, ammunition or explosives in each year since 1989;
(2) on how many occasions the Royal Ulster Constabulary has investigated the theft of weapons, explosives or ammunition from security installations in Northern Ireland.
§ Dr. Mawhinney[holding answer 28 November 1991]: There has been no theft or loss of explosives from security force bases in Northern Ireland since 1989. Information relating to the investigation of the theft or loss of weapons and ammunition could be obtained only by a manual search of individual records and would incur disproportionate cost.
