HC Deb 03 December 1991 vol 200 c92W
Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has to ensure that students with learning disabilities following courses of further education are not placed in classes with much younger pupils.

Mr. Eggar

The arrangements for grouping students in further education are a matter for local decision. The Government believe that all students, including those with disabilities, should be grouped in the light of their needs.

Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has to ensure that students with special educational needs are enabled to choose between specialist and integrated courses of further education.

Mr. Eggar

The Further and Higher Education Bill currently before Parliament will ensure that a wide range of educational provision continues to be available for students with special educational needs. This includes both mainstream and special courses.
