To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what has been the average polytechnic lecturer's salary adjusted for retail prices index, for each year from 1981 to 1991.

Average polytechnic lecturer salaries are not readily available for this period. The table for lecturers in further education generally may be helpful.
