§ Sir John StanleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many dwellings he has acquired under blight notice provisions in connection with the widening of the M20 between junctions 3 and 5; at what total cost; and how many of those dwellings he intends to resell.
§ Mr. Chope[holding answer 2 December 1991]: A total of 227 dwellings have been acquired to date under the blight provisions at a total cost of £21.9 million. On the basis of our current design proposals, we expect to resell all these properties although a small number will lose part of their gardens for environmental works. A further 59 are in the process of acquisition following acceptance of blight notices.
