§ Sir Wyn RobertsWe have no plans to change the existing legislative basis and policies for designating areas of outstanding natural beauty. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment gave a full statement of the Government's view on the protection of such areas in England and Wales in reply to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for Chelmsford (Mr. Burns) on 17 January 1991.
