HC Deb 02 December 1991 vol 200 c16W
Mr. Andrew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action he proposes to take on the Fulbright Commission report on the future of American studies in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Alan Howarth

My right hon. and learned Friend welcomes this report. He notes with pleasure the commission's endorsement of the provision in the national curriculum for the study of the United States. For further and higher education, the nature of subject provision is a matter for individual institutions.
