To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many single mothers are currently in(a) full-time and (b) part-time employment, respectively.

Preliminary estimates from the GB labour force survey for spring 1990 indicate that there were 170,000 single mothers in full-time work and 213,000 in part-time work.
