HC Deb 30 April 1991 vol 190 c170W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list those organisations with which he has had formal meetings regarding the United Kingdom's position on the GATT negotiations; and how often he has met representatives of(a) the National Farmers Union, (b) the TGWU agricultural workers section, (c) the National Consumer Council, (d) the Consumers Association, (e) the National Food Alliance, (f) Oxfam, (g) the National Office of Animal Health, (h) the Catholic Institute for International Relations, (i) Christian Aid, (j) the Retail Consortium, (k) the CBI, (l) UKASTA and (m) the Fertiliser Manufacturers Association, to discuss the United Kingdom's position in those negotiations.

Mr. Curry

The United Kingdom has played a leading part in development of the Community approach to the agriculture negotiations in GATT. We have discussed the issues and United Kingdom interests with a wide range of organisations on many occasions. To provide precise details of these frequent consultations could only be done at disproportionate cost to public funds.
