§ Mr. CurryThe Commission's 1991–92 price proposals include a 5 per cent. cut in EC sugar prices. Any cut agreed40W employed on 1 April and the full complement of staff, including vacant posts, by grade, in the statistical divisions in his Department; and if he will differentiate between staff in statistical posts and staff in administrative posts.

would lead to a reduction in the value of the EC's export refunds for sugar. In turn, this should improve the world market, to the benefit of those ACP (and other) countries which sell sugar on it. The price to be offered to the ACP for sugar sent to the EC in 1991–92 under the Lome sugar protocol—currently over twice the world market price—must be linked to EC prices, but is not negotiated with the ACP until after the price fixing.
