To ask the Lord President of the Council when the TSRB report on resettlement grants will be published.

During Second Reading of the Ministerial and Other Pensions and Salaries Bill on 31 January I announced the Government's intention to invite the TSRB to review resettlement grants. Copies of the report have today been placed in the Library of the House and are available from the Vote Office. It will be published as an appendix to the TSRB's report on parliamentary pensions.

Subject to the views of the House, the Government are minded to accept the TSRB's recommendation that resettlement grants should be extended to all Members aged 65 and over on a tapered basis according to length of service and age. This will require a resolution of the House, and I intend to bring this forward at an early opportunity.
