§ Mr. Nicholas BrownTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the relationship between the £100 million in lost revenue that the Chancellor referred to in his Budget statement under the section dealing with trusts,Official Report, 19 March, column 174 and the figure of £10 million that is shown in the Red Book on page 45 in table 4.1 against item 45, "Non-Resident Trusts: Anti-Avoidance Measures".
§ Mr. MaudeThe figure of £10 million in table 4.1 of the "Financial Statement and Budget Review" is the expected increase in receipts in 1992–93 from the measures concerning non-resident trusts in the Finance Bill. The annex to the table states that, without these measures, there could be a significant loss of tax: this loss was estimated, by my rt. hon. Friend in his Budget statement, to be up to £100 million in a full year.
