HC Deb 26 April 1991 vol 189 c618W
Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in theOfficial Report each private sector landlord and local authority who has expressed an interest in acquiring the former Scottish Special Housing Association housing stock in the Border region to date; and when he expects to announce a deadline after which further applications will be too late to be considered.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Expressions of interest in acquiring Scottish Homes housing stock will be registered with that agency, which will then screen them in accordance with the procedures published by Scottish Homes in October 1989. Any proposals acceptable after the initial screening stage will be notified to the tenants and made public by means of a press release. There is no requirement for Scottish Homes to make available the names of those making unsuccessful proposals.

Scottish Homes asked for registration of interest to be submitted to it by 6 April. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
