To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimates have been received for the heating of the proposed new Inland Revenue offices in Nottingham by electricity; and what estimate has been made for heating them from the combined heat and power system operated by British Coal, Nottinghamshire county council and Nottinghamshire city council.

The estimates obtained for the heating of the proposed new Inland Revenue offices in Nottingham by electricity showed installation costs of £1.056 million and annual fuel and maintenance costs of about £97,000. The estimates for heating the offices by the combined heat and power system were £2.16 million for the installation and about £41,000 for annual fuel and maintenance costs.
