HC Deb 25 April 1991 vol 189 c530W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what has been(a) the production cost and (b) the distribution, of his Department's publication "Medical Manual of Defence Against Chemical Agents".

Mr. Archie Hamilton

The initial order in 1987 for 3,432 copies of the "Medical Manual of Defence Against Chemical Agents", which was printed by HMSO, incurred a production cost in the order of £8,400 at 1991 prices. The initial distribution was 2,256 Army, 180 RAF and 220 Royal Navy, with 776 kept in the maintenance stock. About 1,000 further copies were ordered from HMSO at the beginning of Operation Granby, and these were issued as required to the services.
