HC Deb 24 April 1991 vol 189 c485W
Mr. O'Neill

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many times in the last two years personnel serving in(a) the Army, (b) the Royal Air Force and (c) the Royal Navy have met their Soviet counterparts to exchange information.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

There are regular meetings, in both bilateral and multilateral fora, between the United Kingdom armed forces arid representatives of the Soviet armed forces, involving all three services. A considerable number of such contacts have already taken place and others are planned. We do not maintain a central record of the number of times members of the three services have met their Soviet counterparts.
