HC Deb 23 April 1991 vol 189 c416W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list all those who made representations to him and his Department in relation to Mallards Plot 815 along the route of the M11 link road.

Mr. Chope

Forest housing association made representations prior to the 1989–90 public inquiry; the Bushberry road and Benn street residents association has raised the matter following the decision of 26 March.

Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if his Department has assessed whether the common land at Quartermile lane, next to Hackney marshes, which it proposes to take for the M11 link road, is capable of use for sporting and recreational purposes; whether the proposed exchange strip of land in front of the new Spitalfields development is capable; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

Land in front of the new Spitalfields site is being offered in exchange for a length of roadside verge on Quartermile lane; plot 15 in the draft compulsory purchase Order. The exchange land and plot 15 could accommodate comparable recreational activities. The majority of the existing common land at Quartermile lane will not be required by the scheme proposals, but for those other areas which are to be taken, exchange land will be given elsewhere.

Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make available to the hon. Member for Leyton his Department's M 11 link road construction drawings of the Lea bridge interchange, giving an indication of where they differ from the plans his Department placed before the recent public inquiry.

Mr. Chope

The construction drawings are not yet available. They will be drawn at a larger scale than the order plans and with appropriate detail.
