§ Mr. MacleanUnder the Residues Directive 86/469, EC member states are required to carry out a programme of surveillance for residues of veterinary drugs, including hormones and other illegal growth promoters. Details of results are required to be sent annually to the EC Commission, which has responsibility for making an assessment of the position. Results for 1990 are still being submitted to the Commission.
