§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyThe first consultative document of the adoption law review, "The nature and effect of adoption—discussion paper No. 1", a copy of which is available in the Library, has been issued and the responses are being considered. Further consultative documents will follow including one on inter-country adoption.
Issue of this paper has been deferred until after the meeting of the special commission of the Hague conference on private international law which begins on 22 April so that a preliminary report of the outcome of the meeting can be included in the law review paper and comments sought.
