§ Mr. DorrellI understand that there are currently 477 patients in Friern Barnet hospital. The satisfactory transfer of these patients and the provision of associated new residential and day facilities on the hospital's closure, is a matter for North East Thames regional health authority. Since 1 April all psychiatric patients who are discharged, or are being considered for discharge, are subject to the care programme approach contained in circular HC(90)23/LASSL(90)11, a copy of which is available in the Library.
