§ Mr. Allan Stewart[holding answer 28 March 1991]: The table shows estimates of capital investment in terms of net capital expenditure for manufacturing industry in Scotland between 1974 and 1988, the latest year for which figures are available.

§ Mr. Allan Stewart[holding answer 25 March 1991]: The only information at present available to my Department in relation to expenditure in 1991–92 is based on local authorities' budget estimate returns. These show that authorities plan expenditure on services supported by aggregate external finance and personal, collective and standard community charges as follows:
