To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on progress on the select registrations scheme.

The select registrations scheme started on 1 October. This allows motorists to purchase an entitlement to any registration number from the range H1–20 for almost all possible three-letter combinations. About 11,000 registrations were sold producing an income of £5.6 million in the past two weeks. Over 200,000 numbers are still available for purchase.
