To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what percentage of(a) Scottish and (b) United Kingdom gross domestic product was derived from (i) manufacturing and (ii) electronics in (y) 1979 and (z)

The table gives the information requested for 1979, and equivalent information for 1987 and 1988 where this is available. Provisional estimates for 1989 will be published in December.
