HL Deb 31 October 1990 vol 522 c1887WA
Lord Northfield

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why no ministerial decision has been announced on an appeal, heard before an inspector 20 months ago, concerning a motorway services area at the approach in Telford on the M54 motorway; and what precedents exist for this length of delay in ministerial decisions on planning appeals.

Baroness Blatch

I very much regret the continued delay in dealing with this appeal. The issues raised are complex but I am hopeful that we shall be in a position to issue a decision very soon. Precedents do exist for processing delays where complex issues are involved.
