§ Mr. ForthNone. The Health and Safety Commission (HSC) intends to take statutory action to strengthen existing legislation and guidance applying to the control of legionellosis. The HSC issued a consultative document in November 1989 setting out its proposals. In the light of comments received revised proposals for action have been drawn up and will be considered shortly by the HSC. Existing requirements under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 apply to all wet cooling towers, including those at power stations.
