§ Mr. WrayTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with his counterparts of Germany, France, the Benelux countries and Italy in order to sign the agreement to(a) remove all checks of people travelling across the borders with those countries and (b) establish closer police and judicial co-operation with them.
§ Mr. Garel-JonesMy right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary holds regular discussions with his counterparts from all European Community member states on matters relating to free movement of people in the Community. We have no plans to join the Schengen arrangements, but are committed to closer police and judicial co-operation with all our partners.
