HL Deb 25 October 1990 vol 522 c1684WA
Lord Allen of Abbeydale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have consulted the judiciary on the recommendations of the working party chaired by Sir Michael Ogden QC about making actuarial tables automatically admissible in evidence in compensation cases; and, if so, with what result.

The Lord Chancellor (Lord Mackay of Clashfern)

Yes. I have recently consulted the judiciary about these recommendations. There is general acceptance of the help to be obtained from the Government Actuary's tables.
