§ Mr. WaldegraveI refer the right hon. Gentleman to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Sheffield, Central (Mr. Caborn) on 13 June 1990, at column255. In this financial year we have committed over £40,000 under this scheme.
§ 45. Mr. John CarlisleTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the furtherance of diplomatic relations with South Africa.
§ Mr. WaldegraveWe have consistently maintained regular contact with the South African authorities on a wide range of issues, both here and via Her Majesty's ambassador. We have opposed the diplomatic isolation of South Africa and welcome the increasing number of countries which share our view.
