§ Mr. Garel-JonesThe United Kingdom strongly supports the developments of closer political co-operation among our Community partners. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs will be meeting his EC colleagues in Brussels on 12 November when he will discuss various political co-operation issues. There is likely to be a discussion of political co-operation at the special European Council in Rome on 27 October, which will be attended by my right hon. Friends the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
