§ Mr. FreemanIn 1989–90 investment in transport through the Department of Transport's programme and the nationalised industries for which it is responsible was nearly 40 per cent. higher in real terms than three years earlier. In three years hence, on the basis of the plans shown in the public expenditure White Paper, it will be about 40 per cent. higher again.
