HC Deb 22 October 1990 vol 178 c15W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the outcome of the development of the EXPURT computer model on exposure from urban radionuclide transfer developed by the National Radiological Protection Board.

Mr. Baldry

The EXPURT model—exposure from urban radionuclide transfer—has been developed by National Radiological Protection Board over a number of years with support from the Health and Safety Executive's nuclear installations inspectorate and the European Community. It is intended primarily for use in assessing radiation doses received by the population resulting from accidental releases of radioactivity.

A report by the National Radiological Protection Board describing the current state of development of the model has recently been published and I am arranging for a copy to be placed in the Library of the House.
