HL Deb 22 October 1990 vol 522 c1231WA
Lord Erroll of Hale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether freight trains and other trains will be permitted to use the East-West Crossrail; and whether the system, as now planned, will include the Marylebone link originally proposed in the Central London Rail Study of January 1989.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

There are no plans to use East-West Crossrail for freight trains. Nor is it now proposed that the line would serve Marylebone. Instead it is envisaged that services from Aylesbury should be routed into Crossrail via Old Oak Common and Paddington.
