To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has any plans to include Leeds in additional measures to tackle homelessness.

[holding answer 18 October 1990]: The allocation of £250 million for the present financial year and next, for schemes to house homeless families, which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State announced in November last year was targeted on London and the south-east, where homelessness pressures, particularly the numbers in bed-and-breakfast accommodation, were greatest. Those pressures continue to be most severe in those regions.
