To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what measures are planned to improve the flow of buses in London.

Mr. Freeman

The Government plan to propose legislation to implement a majority of the recommendations of the roads and utilities report on public utilities street works. We shall also be implementing the proposals in our consultation paper on "Traffic in London". London Transport has formed a new bus priority team to identify practical solutions to the bottlenecks which cause the most serious delays to buses.
