§ Mr. FreemanQuality of service standards for the passenger sectors were first agreed in 1986. Some were revised earlier this year, as set out in my right hon. Friend's letter of 19 December to the chairman of British Rail, (Official Report, 19 December 1989, column 227). British Rail is required to report progress in its annual report and accounts. More detailed reports are provided regularly to the Transport Users Consultative Committee.
