asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will place British forces in Saudi Arabia under United Nations Command.

British forces are being deployed at the request of the Government of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the inherent right of individual and collective self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, as affirmed in Resolution 661 (1990) of the Security Council.
