§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 15 October 1990]: A wide range of research into hypertension and cardiac failure has been supported by the Scottish Home and Health Department throughout the 1980s at a cost of £239,000. In addition the Medical Research Council's blood pressure unit in Glasgow is conducting research in this field.
